Moving out of CrystalHere is a checklist of things that must be completed before closing on your property.
Arrange for a Housing Maintenance Compliance Inspection (forms are listed below).This process must be completed prior to closing. Note: The seller must complete ordered corrections unless the buyer signs an agreement with the City to accept responsibility for completing the corrections.
- Once a closing date has been established, call Utility Billing (763) 531-1114 to schedule a final reading of your water meter. A reading must be taken inside and outside.
- Cancel your utilities (gas, telephone, garbage, electricity, cable) by contacting each company that provides service to you.
- Call and inform the Assessing Clerk (763) 531-1118 that you are moving.
Moving into Crystal
Here is a checklist to help your move into Crystal:
- Inquire of your real estate agent, or the seller, if an inspection has been completed for Housing Maintenance Compliance. This process must be completed prior to closing. Note: The seller must complete ordered corrections unless the buyer signs an agreement with the City to accept responsibility for completing the corrections.
- Once a closing date has been established, call Utility Billing (763)531-1114 and give the address of the property and your name as the incoming homeowner.
- Set up your other utilities (gas-Centerpoint Energy by Minnegasco, telephone, garbage-contact city hall or click on the following link for a listing of garbage haulers from which you may select, electricity-Xcel Energy, cable-Comcast)
- File for the homestead credit on your property taxes by coming into City Hall during normal business hours (Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) You can fill out the form by clicking here and bring it into City Hall with you.
