The U.S. Constitution requires a count of all people living in the United States every 10 years. The Census counts everyone regardless of citizenship or immigration status. The City of Crystal is asking for your help to ensure a complete count of everyone who lives in our community.

What’s at stake?
• A complete count will reduce the chance of Minnesota losing a Congressional seat.
• Census data are used to allocate federal and state funding for local needs.
• Census data are used by the private sector to decide where to make economic investments.

What’s the process?
1.  In mid-March all residential addresses will be mailed an invitation to respond to the Census online.
2.  Addresses that do not respond online will be mailed a paper Census form in mid-April.
3.  Addresses that do not respond to the Census with the online or paper forms will be visited by Census workers in May-August.
