Adam R. Bell became city manager on Jan. 17, 2023.
The city manager’s main responsibilities are appointing city
employees, directing all city departments, preparing the annual budget and ensuring laws and ordinances are enforced.
In addition to
these responsibilities, the city manager submits to the city council, plans and programs, reports and recommendations for
effective and efficient delivery of services in Crystal.
Bell was the city administrator for the City of Bayport., Minn. for nearly six years. He also worked for the City of Lake Elmo as the assistant city administrator/city clerk (1.5 years), city clerk (one year), and deputy clerk (three months). Bell also worked as a department supervisor – recording/vital statistics (two years) and an assistant department supervisor – administration (1.5 years) for the Denton County Clerk’s Office in Texas.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Gustavus Adolphus College and a juris doctor degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
