Residents in Crystal can nominate their great neighbor for the "Neighbors Recognizing Neighbors" award. Now in its ninth year, the award honors and thanks great neighbors in Crystal. If you have a kind and thoughtful neighbor who helps out, volunteers in the community or was there in an emergency, the city wants to celebrate them.

Starting March 31, the recycling program in the City of Crystal will expand to include the curbside collection of organics. Organics consist of food scraps and non-recyclable paper such as napkins and paper towels, and it will be collected weekly on the same day as residents’ trash. To participate in curbside organics recycling, residents must register online.

Explore the City of Crystal’s rich history in this six-installment documentary entitled “Our Town’s Story – Crystal.” The installments feature rare and historical images and video of Crystal’s past underscored with interviews with community members and volunteers, former Crystal city employees, Crystal Historical Society members and others.

The City of Crystal, through the West Metro Fire-Rescue District, is working with Smart911 to notify residents via email, text, phone or social media when there are emergencies. To receive these mass notifications, residents must opt in, sign up for an account and share the varying levels of information that they want police, fire and EMS to utilize when responding to a 9-1-1 call. Crystal property owners can view their current and past water usage and set up alerts via the city’s new SENSUS Customer Portal.
