Municipal Election
Crystal will have four council seats on the 2024 general election ballot. The term for mayor and three council seats representing Ward 3 and Ward 4 in northern Crystal, and Section I (Wards 1 and 2) in southern Crystal, expire at the end of 2024.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Find where you vote and what times polls are open here. Find out what you will need to register on Election Day here. On Election Day, eligible voters may only vote in person at designated polling places.

Registering to vote in Minnesota is easy. Check your voter registration status, register to vote and update your registration here. If you have registered, confirm your registration is correct and up to date. Also, update your registration if you’ve moved or changed your name since the last time you’ve voted.

Serve as an Election Judge

Serving as an election judge is a great opportunity to learn
more about election processes and also provides a valuable service to the community. Election judges are responsible for administering election procedures in each polling place on Election Day. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, opening and closing the polling places, explaining voting procedures, and providing assistance to sign in voters and/or register new voters.
 
Required qualifications to be an election judge:
• Must be eligible to vote in Minnesota.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must not be a candidate in the election.
• Cannot reside, either temporarily or permanently, with any candidate on the ballot in the election.
• Cannot be a spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling, or stepsibling of any election judge serving in the same precinct at the same time, or of any candidate on the ballot in the election.
• Must complete a minimum two-hour, paid, online election judge training (provided by the city).
• Must have valid email address and check email regularly as elections communication will be primarily through email and/or text messaging.
• Must be available to work between the hours of 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Election Day (some half-day shifts are available). Specific times may vary based on the type of election judge position and/or polling place.

High school students ages 16 and older can become student election judges.
